Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I spent a lot of time with my depression era grandparents,
gardening in the spring and summer, fishing in local mountain streams, time spent on the coast
discovering the wonders of tide pools and sea stars, digging clams in backwater estuaries, and

crabbing for Dungeness in the many coastal inlets.
The dramatic mountains, lakes and, coastline was my backyard.

So at a young age, I developed a deep connection with the natural world.

Living a sustainable, self-sufficient life has always been at my core.
Recycling and caring for the environment wasn’t just a popular Buzzword then,
it was just a part of normal life.

Together we can apply what nature has shown us and have a happy and sustainable future.
